Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Kathmandu Basin. Coloured three-dimensional computer map of the Kathmandu Basin in the Nepalese Himalayas. North is at top. The land topography was mapped by the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) on the Space Shuttle Endeavour, using reflected radar pulses. The basin, which contains Nepal's capital city Kathmandu, is surrounded by the mountains of the central Himalayas. The formation (orogenesis) of these fold mountains began around 40 million years ago, when the Indian subcontinent collided with Eurasia. SRTM is run by NASA, the USA's National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), and the German and Italian space agencies.
